Guidelines for the
2009 Young Authors Anthology:

Young
Authors
-
All genres are
welcome: poetry, fiction, children’s stories,
non-fiction, and drama.
-
We are open to
reading all types, styles, and lengths up to 10,000
words. There are no editorial restrictions on form or
content, although we are not interested in anything that
would be considered pornographic or hatemongering.

Young Authors
must be between the ages of 14 – 19. Public school,
private school, and home-schooled students are
encouraged to submit.

A cover letter
is not necessary.
-
Do not include
your name on the actual submission. We ask that you
enclose a cover sheet with a title, author’s name,
address, phone number, and email address (if available).

Manuscripts
will not be returned.
-
Submission
deadline is January 15, 2009, with publication
expected in April.

Enclose an
SASE (self-addressed stamped envelope) or a
self-addressed stamped postcard so that we can inform
you of your submission’s status.

Send all
submissions to: The Writers Studio, c/o Tammy Tillotson,
PO Box 353, Chase City, VA 23924.

If your
submission is chosen, we will contact you and ask that
you submit an electronic copy as well as a short
biography.

In order to
keep production costs down, the Writers Studio will not
be able to pay authors. Copies of the anthology will be
available for purchase on-line and at local businesses.*

All rights to
chosen works will revert back to the author.

Preferred font
is Garamond, 11 pt.
*In the future,
outstanding pieces of literature may be awarded monetary
honorariums at the discretion of the Writers Studio and
depending on the availability of scholarship funds.
Young Artists

Electronic cover art submissions are preferred. Please
submit an electronic JPG, GIF, or PNG file of at least
300dpi to:
bullbayreview@yahoo.com.

If submitting
by mail, please send a 5x7
photograph of artwork to:
