Submission Guidelines for the 2008 anthology:

 

  1. All genres are welcome: poetry, fiction, children’s stories, non-fiction, and drama.
  2. We are open to reading all types, styles, and lengths up to 10,000 words. There are no editorial restrictions on form or content, although we are not interested in anything that would be considered pornographic or hatemongering.
  3. A cover letter is not necessary.
  4. Do not include your name on the actual submission. We ask that you enclose a cover sheet with a title, author’s name, address, phone number, and email address (if available).
  5. Manuscripts will not be returned.
  6. Submission deadline is September 1, 2008, with publication expected in December.
  7. Enclose an SASE (self-addressed stamped envelope) or a self-addressed stamped postcard so that we can inform you of your submission’s status.
  8. Send all submissions to: The Writers Studio, c/o Curtis Brauda, PO Box 975, South Boston, VA 24592-9998.
  9. If your submission is chosen, we will contact you and ask that you submit an electronic copy as well as a short biography.
  10. In order to keep production costs down, the Writers Studio will not be able to pay authors. Copies will be available for purchase on-line and at local businesses.
  11. All rights to chosen works will revert back to the author.
  12. Preferred font is Garamond, 10 to12 pt.
