![]() Welcome to Redskins Central. This page will be updated weekly, so come back and see my take on all the games. Remember, I am quite opinionated when it comes to the Skins, but, then...I made this page, so tough luck if you don't like it. As long as you understand that the Cowboys are the most vile, ill-mannered, uncouth, non-lawabiding, sorry-excuses-for-professionals on the planet...we will get along just fine. I know what kind of people they are, and they just simply cannot help it. hahhahah |

Playoffs 2000!
Capital Punishment is
back!
We completely dismantled the Lions today,
and it was certainly a beautiful thing to watch. Next week will be a tough one, but
I like our chances. I hope Tre' will be allowed to play, and Davis must play for us
to have a good chance.
How about Brad slamming big Robert Porcher? hahaha, tough luck...

1-03-2000-- Well, here we go! We haven't
been in the playoffs for quite a while, and now we are hosting again. The last time
we did that, we won the Super Bowl....hmmm. hehhe
I am glad we get another shot at the Lions. Now, we get 'em in our house. Hope
it will be a different story.
It sure was fun stomping the Dolphins on Sunday, too, by the way. hhahah...I know it
was a "meaningless" game, but we whipped them soundly, and we all know the Dan
the Man was trying his damndest to do well and show that he can still do it. I hope
he does it in the AFC.
I will be back as we get closer to Saturday's game...

12-27-99-- Yeah, Baby...Yeah!
NFC East Champions!
It may not have been the prettiest game in the world, but I
will take it. The run defense was awful, but we tightened down on 'em in the second
half and had a couple of big turnovers. Johnson looked very smooth moving the ball
down the field at the end of regulation, except for one play (Get rid of the damn ball!),
and the offense really clicked in OT for the win. I have been begging Norv to
utilize Centers more often. He really came through with some big plays tonight.
It feels great to get back on top in the division...where we belong. And,
don't forget,...this is just a rebuilding year for us. heheh
Cya in the playoffs!

12-24-99-- MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!
Well, this weekend may, or may not, decide the NFC East.
With a little help and a big win for the Skins, we could do it Sunday. We
played well against the Colts and had a shot to win it. If we play that well this
weekend, we should waste the Niners. We will see what happens.
Be back later...

12-13-99-- Best all around game of the year.
Sure, it was the Cardinals, but they were one of the hottest teams in the league
and we just spanked 'em! We will see how good the defense really is next week in
Indy. Now, that will be a real test. I don't know how the playoff picture is
going to play out, but we need to win some VERY tough games in order to hang on to the NFC
East. :)
How bout that Darrell Green? :) He is, and always will be, the man!
cya soon...

12-07-99-- I'm sure you are familiar with this
one: "If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all"...this week, I
choose to observe that quote...
good day...

11-28-99-- Man.......
Well, I can't recall ever being upset when the Skins won a game! Today was almost
too much to bear, though. The defense looked good in the first half but giving up 2
(NOT 1 but 2) 91 yard drives to the Eagles in the fourth quarter is totally unacceptable.
We remain in first for now, but we need to "steal" a game on the road
somewhere in the schedule, since the Cowballs have the easiest schedule down the stretch.
be back later...

11-22-99-- YES!...Back on top in the Division!
6-4 is actually leading two divisions in the NFC right now, so we will take it.
I was at the Skins/Giants game yesterday, and it was awesome! The defense
finally made some keys stops. The defensive line pressured NY QBs all day and made
huge sacks, some of which forced turnovers. This win keeps the Skins alive, and
quite possibly sent the Giants packing for next year. :)
Oh yeah,...I believe there was another key NFC East matchup yesterday...let's see...I
believe the Cowballs played in Arizona. hahhaha......aawwwww, almost!
hehheh
Don't look now, but the Cards are only 2 games out of it. yikes....stay tuned.
Revenge on Philly next week at FedEx Field. :)

11-7-99-- Hahahha.....so much for my previous
post, huh? Looks like we only beat the sorry teams. :(
This was definitely a tough game on the schedule, but you have to win those at home, and
the Skins didn't come close to winning today. We have a relatively easy schedule for
the next fews weeks...at least compared to our December schedule. If we have a shot
at the division or playoffs, we need to have a 2 or 3 game lead going into December, at
least. That might not even do it. Rough schedule down the stretch for us.
It all started off so well in this one, but it wasn't even a game. I don't if
we are using the wrong defensive schemes, or what, but something needs to change on that
side of the ball.......awful "D" again today.

11-4-99-- Man, what a week for my phone line to
be down!! Oh well, I know all you big fans have been anxiously awaiting my updates
so here goes:
STEAMROLLER is back in gear!
heheehhe...that crap about the defense giving up X amount of yards to the Bears is crap,
too, cause we destroyed them early and just sat back and allowed them to rack up
meaningless yards in the second half. So, the yardage stats ain't all they are
cracked up to be...sometimes. Got a big test this week with that little bugger
Flutie scampering around like a waterbug. If we can contain him, we should roll 'em.

10-25-99-- Ok, I am hating this situation. Bad News and Good News: The Bad News is that we just lost for the second time this year to the Cowballs, and we subsequently lost the #1 tie-breaker by doing so. The Good News, if that's possible, is that we are still in a tie for first place in the division. We have some games coming up that we MUST win, because we finish with a rough schedule down the stretch. The Cowballs, on the other hand, have an easy finish in December, so we need them to drop a bunch between now and Thanksgiving, and then some after that, too. And don't look now, but the Giants are now back in the hunt!? We get them again on November 21st....and I will be there! YES!!

10-19-99-- HAHHAHAHHAHAHAAHAH...again, an even greater day
for football!
Skins move into 1st place atop the division...ain't that somethin'?
Our QB had an off day (for him), but the defense finally showed up. I know it was a
beaten up Cards team, but we still looked pretty sharp. Oh, and by the way...the
Monday nighter was awesome, as well!
I will be back later this week to add more comments...please join me, won't you?...haaahhahhahah

10-10-99-- What a nice day for football....HAHAHHAHAAHAH...
aawwww........., 13-10 ...almost, cowgirls!

10-3-99-- YES! The
Skins givith and the Skins taketh away...hehheh
Man, talk about a series of emotional ups and downs! The defense is really making
things rough on us this year. Thank goodness the offense was able to bail us out of
this one. Good job Johnson, Westbrook, and Connell, and nice job to Fryar for coming
off the bench and making a big catch for us when Connell got a bad cramp in his leg.
Davis had another fine performance, as well. The defense looks pretty good at
times, but man do they give up the yardage at other times. :(
Super drive at the end of the game. The second straight
week that we've been able to generate an all-important scoring drive when we needed it.
In the recent past, we would have never been able to get it done.
MORE LATER...

9-26-99-- HERE WE GO!
More wins than losses?! WOW! Now that's quite refreshing. It's been a
long time since I could say that. Nice job Sunday for the Skins. They showed
that they could come back after giving up a quick score, and they also showed some guts in
making a last drive for a score when they needed it. We have already displayed an
inability to keep a big lead :( and the explosive offense that was
unleashed on the Giants last week, but this was a very important test for the Skins to
show that they can come back. I realize that the Jets had some people out in this
one, but they were still a tough, well-coached opponent that had to have a victory, and
not to mention, playing at home. Congrats to the defensive line for getting to Mirer
when they had to...atta boy Big Lang for causing that fumble. The last 2 minutes
were...well, let's just say...nearly unbearable, but I'm glad we got out of there with the
win. Maybe we should give an honorary game ball to Mickens...hhahaha
Now we must beat Carolina next...at home!
cya there! later...

9-19-99-- NOW THAT'S FOOTBALL, WASHINGTON
STYLE!
Super game today for the Skins. We currently have the most efficient offense in the
league, by far. Now the defense...well, we are still working on that. ;)
This defense has too many bigtime players on it not to be a force to be reckoned
with. I truly believe that things will gel in the next few weeks, and the Skins will
be a total team. Not necessarily Super Bowl material, yet, but on the move and a
dangerous team that can play with anyone in this league. What a way to bounce back
after such disappointment last week. To go into the Meadowlands and get a dominating
performance like this one has got to be very uplifting for this young team. The
Skins have had their fair share of tough luck in NY in recent years, and I must admit that
I was a tad uneasy when the score was 33-14, but we continued to stick it to 'em!
It's nice to have a 1 in the win column as early as week 2!
The Giants have a very tough defense that won last week's game for them, but the Skins
made 'em look like a little league team on Sunday. Brad Johnson is awesome right
now, and Davis and Westbrook are doing a superb job, too. When we get a little more
pressure up the middle from Stubby and Big Daddy and force teams to pass...look out!
I am quite encouraged by this performance (as if you couldn't tell).
I'll be back soon for more...stay tuned.

9-15-99-- Well, I have finally gotten around to updating after the debacle last Sunday. A worse display of giving away a game I cannot recall...complete and utter failure. I cannot understand how that could happen after looking so sharp through the first 3 quarters. Sure, the Skins gave up mucho yardage in the first 3, but we have a young defense that relies on athletic ability and doesn't have the necessary experience yet. Ok, here goes...2 unbelievable screwups (fumbles) near the goal line took quite a few points off the board, some terrible play-calling with 6 minutes to go and a 14 point lead, a botched game-winning field goal attempt, several awful punts (helluva game Turk...good job on the punting and kick-holding), and once again, the dreaded "prevent" defense, or whatever that was, sucked royally...just back up and let 'em come on down the field! Other than that, we played pretty well. I'm sure there's much more that I would have had to say Sunday, but I have cooled off considerably since then. Well, cya in the Meadowlands.
