High Plains Drifter

1973-High Plains Drifter

This classic was the first to gain national attention for Eastwood as "The Man With No Name".  Eastwood plays a drifter that moves into a dusty little town called Lago, and makes the townspeople very uneasy and suspicious, but it is their suspicions, doubts, and secrets about themselves that spells their own doom.  Does the drifter avenge someone else's death or......... his own?
A "must see" film for Eastwood fans.

Josey Wales 1976-The Outlaw Josey Wales

Classic Eastwood continues here as he portrays an outlaw on the run from the Union soldiers who murdered his entire family at the outset of the Civil War.  Wales takes in an assortment of misfits during his hunt for his brand of justice.  There are many amusing lines in this film, as well as in High Plains Drifter.  This will become a staple in Eastwood's films.

Unforgiven

1985-Pale Rider
1992-Unforgiven

The string of successful westerns enters the 80's with Pale Rider, another in the "Man With No Name" series.  In 1992, Unforgiven is released and wins awards for Eastwood as an actor and director.  In this film, William Munny (Eastwood) resorts to his "former" murderous ways to rid the small town of villains.   There is definitely a theme here in these such films.  :)

Dirty Harry

1971-Dirty Harry
1973-Magnum Force
1976-The Enforcer

Anyone who knows Clint Eastwood has got to know about the "Dirty Harry" series.   Detective Harry Callahan always followed his own rules, and he gave us plenty of memorable one-liners, as well.  Remember some of them?
"...well do ya, punk?"

"Go ahead...Make my day..."

1983-Sudden Impact
1988-The Dead Pool

Dirty Harry makes a Sudden Impact on the '80's with another classic.  "Go ahead...make my day" is probably one of the most repeated lines in movie history, and this is where you can find it.  In The Dead Pool, the last of the Dirty Harry series, you can get a quick glimpse of Jim Carrey before he made it big.  He plays a short-lived rock star named Johnny Squares.
