My name is Darrin Talbott, I'm 37 years old, and I'm going through my second or third childhood, depending on who is counting.   My wife says I never finished my first childhood, so I can't have started my second one already.

I was lucky enough to grow up with my dad owning a motorcycle shop, so I've been around bikes all my life.  Back in the 1980's, I raced cross-country races and enduros on a Honda XR200R.  I always wanted to race motocross, but mom said that was too dangerous.

When I was 32,  I decided to try motocross.  My wife let me buy an old 1988 Honda CR250R, and off I went.  It did not take long for me to figure out that I would never be good at motocross because I hated to jump.  I also hated to fall down in the mud.  That's when I decided to try racing ATV's.

ATV motocross solved half of my problems;  I didn't fall down in the mud, but I still didn't want to jump.  Now the good news - ATV's also have TT races, which is flattrack with two small jumps.  I loved TT.

AND THEN GOD SMILED AND VIR RE-OPENED.  This was it, what I always wanted to do - racing with NO JUMPS WHATSOEVER.  If you've never seen motorcycles roadracing, please go see it.  It's like high-speed ballet on two wheels.
