Findings on "Levitation in Earth's E-field" Technology

Is electronic levitation possible?

Any high school physics student would answer that question "YES". Charged particles are affected by both electric and magnetic fields. The motion of a charged particle through a field (either electric or magnetic) experiences an accelerating force while within the field. The force is dependant on the nature of the field and the nature of the charged particle.

The motion of an electron within an electric field created by a charged parellel plate capacitor is a common way to teach about electric fields. This is significant because the earth is a giant spherical parellel plate capacitor.

This "earth capacitor" is comprised of the positive electro-sphere / ionosphere combination and the negetive earth surface. This "earth - capacitor" is charged to about 300,000 volts with a total surface charge of about 1,000,000 coulombs. Since

Capacitance = Charge / Voltage

C = 1,000,000 coulombs / 300,000 volts

C = 3.33... farads

The next logical question is, "How are charged particles affected within the electric field of this "earth - capacitor""? And the corelary question is, "How large is "a particle""?
